BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) Programme - General Management

Course Objective

Kasturi Institute of Management offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - General Management under graduate programme affiliated by Alagappa University. The duration of this course is 3 years. The course covers all the related topics of the study fields. This is a full-time degree course. The course syllabus is designed in such a way that, it not only imparts the theoretical but practical training also.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme of the Kasturi Institute introduces and exposes the student to various industry-specified management functions such as those in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, System and Retail. The BBA program offers 3 years degree qualification; not only enables students to achieve a professional qualification but also assists management graduates in relating their skills to the needs of business. The BBA course structure is spread across 6 semesters in 3 years. The BBA programme offered by Kasturi Institute of Management under Alagappa University provides an ideal platform for pursuing higher studies in Management leading to an MBA.

This BBA programme has been exclusively carved for the students who want to complete their graduation studies in just 3 years thus saving precious one year of education. Students completing their Bachelors degree in this program can join Masters Programme (MBA) in Kasturi Institute of Management.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who have successfully passed 12th Standard / HSC / 10+2 (or equivalent Level of Examination) from any recognized Board / University and have secured good grade of marks can join the BBA degree course.

Conduct of the Programme

This 3-year BBA degree course is conducted under semester pattern as per the rules and regulations of the Alagappa University.

Minimum Passing Qualification & Classification of Successful Candidates for PG Courses

Candidates who have secured 50% of marks in each paper in the University examination and 50% of marks both in the University examination and continuous internal assessment tests put together shall be declared to have passed the examination. Successful candidates will be classified as per the classification norms in vogue.

Curriculum

Kasturi Institute’s BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) - General Management under-graduate degree is an intensive course that span across 6 semesters in 3 academic years, covers diverse modules and even includes job internships.
The objective of the BBA programme is to impart rigorous theory and practical curriculum to help us in developing each student's total personality. It is designed to give students an exposure to management skills needed for the creation of specialists who can integrate across functional areas in any organization. It will develop them as problem solvers and entrepreneurs. Executive jobs at entry level are available across the industry after the successful completion of BBA.

Course Highlights

Kasturi Institute’s BBA curriculum is designed to provide basic understanding about Management education and to train the students in communication skills effectively, with inculcate entrepreneurship skills. The students are prepared to explore opportunities being newly created in management profession. Students are groomed to become future managers in various areas like Marketing, HR, Finances, Operations Management, Systems, etc.
The relevant syllabus copies will be issued at the beginning of the programme. The Principal of Kasturi Institute of Management, Coimbatore will arrange for the supply of study materials. The students have to make their own arrangement to procure other prescribed reference text books.
The Principal will assess continuously the knowledge gained, performance status, skills developed, etc., by the students for the apportioned marks as per the approved scheme of examination through class room tests, assignments, seminars, etc.,
The marks awarded by subject wise will be displayed on the notice board of the institute and the same will also be brought the notice of parent / guardian. This assessment of the student will also be sent to the Controller of Examinations.
A pamphlet on distribution of marks for the external assessment and internal assessment in theory papers of the programme, minimum passing qualification and marks for the various internal assessment components will be given to the students on joining the course
Model question paper for all the subjects will be hosted in the University’s website during October and March of every year for 30 days.
The course comes with a Dual Certification, i.e., a BBA degree from Alagappa University and a Certificate of Accomplishment from Kasturi Institute of Management Studies
On successful completion of the BBA degree, students may choose to further specialise with Kasturi Institute’s MBA degree.
